YES! Been waiting a long time to hear some new Madvillain. This track was just released over at AdultSwim, where they are releasing a new single for upcoming albums every week for 8 weeks. “Papermill” is the first track off of the new Villain disc, which has been under construction since last year. The album will hopefully be released later this year on Stones Throw Records. Listen above, download below like usual!
This is the first of a one-a-month, twelve-CD series from Madlib on his own imprint, Madlib Invazion. Madlib Medicine Show No. 1: Before The Verdict is a full 17-track hip-hop album with original tracks and “the OJ Simpson remixes” featuring Guilty Simpson. Consider it a prelude to Madlib & Guilty’s collab OJ Simpson. There are two brief guest appearances by MED and J Dilla, in a short, previously unreleased interlude dating back to his & Madlib’s first collaboration. An 8-page booklet with track list is included in the CD.
Disgusting Madlib beat on this one, this track is off his upcoming release, Madlib Medicine Show No. 1: Before The Verdict. You can order it here.
Madvillain, as I’m sure you know, is the combination of MF DOOM and Madlib. Their debut album in March of 2004 took Hip-Hop heads on a journey of sound unlike any other. DOOM’s lyrics are constantly on the top of his game, his flow is remarkable. Madlib on the other hand is a beatsmith that uses sounds from every possible source, from oldies music to saturday morning cartoons. They followed up that release with Madvillainy 2: The Remixes, which was, in my opinion, not as ill, but a super dope spin on the original songs that I had grown to love. Madvillainy (the original) is easily one of the the top 5 albums of the decade. This here is a preview of their upcoming release with J.Rocc on the wheels of steel. Keep your head up for the next Madvillain album, dropping (supposedly) 2010.

This remix, produced by Madlib, is part of the upcoming “Gazillion Ear Remix EP”, which has a bonus beat by DOOM, and remixes from Thom Yorke (of Radiohead fame), Dr Who Dat? and Jneiro Jarel & Dave Sitek. This track originally appeared on DOOM’s 2009 release, Born Like This. Check out the MP3 below. Kanye West has a minor phone-call cameo at the beginning aswell.
